2011 Season
Artistic Company

Artistic Company

At the heart of the Prague Shakespeare Festival is a seasonal company of actors, designers, musicians, stage managers, technicians, teachers and directors who, under the guidance of the Artistic Director, work constantly together to explore a cohesive classical style. The Festival aspires to provide an ensemble atmosphere for extended theatrical exploration wherein company members work as a group to develop skills and to perfect their craft through the continuity of several productions. The quality of commitment demanded of the company members fosters cohesiveness as well as an intensity of approach to the Festival's classical repertoire. The Festival seeks to offer its actors, designers, and directors competitive wages and secure benefits both to nurture and support their creative endeavors and to foster an environment in which all members feel that they are valued participants in a shared undertaking. The Prague Shakespeare Festival embraces opportunities for collaborative work and training and a sharing of experiences with other artists and companies, locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally, as a way of enhancing professional development and expanding personal visions. In these endeavors, the primary focus of the company is the work of William Shakespeare, though the company's productions are not limited to Shakespeare's plays.

PSF Associate Artists

PSF's Associate Artists are the artists that the Artistic Director has identified as being instrumental to the long-term success of PSF. Working under a minimum of a two-year contract, Associate Artists are engaged exclusively by PSF and may only work with other regional theatres with the notification and approval of the Artistic Director. They are the artists that PSF had made a firm commitment to in terms of developing and nurturing their careers in the theatre and receive priority in terms of training, casting and potential employment. Composed of the most experienced and most promising PSF artists, the Associate Artists serve as a model for other Artistic Company Members; representing PSF in public functions other than productions, and they may be called upon for special events as requested by the Artistic Director. PSF's Associate Artists are the core group of the Artistic Company. In addition to fulfilling all the expectations of Artistic Company Members, working with the Artistic Director, they are the dedicated nucleus of PSF artistic team.
