ROMEO AND JULIET
Educational Tour

One of the most beloved, enduring plays of all time, Shakespeare's masterpiece Romeo and Juliet is the premiere production of a new ongoing collaboration between the Prague Shakespeare Festival, the Czech Republic's only professional English language theatre and The Bear Educational Theatre, Central Europe's most successful and critically acclaimed educational English Theatre. Fueled by the intense passions and moving poetry that the world has cherished for years, the play is presented under the direction of PSF Artistic Director Guy Roberts with only five actors and in 70 minutes. Shakespeare's timeless story of the two "star-crossed" lovers has become the epitome of the joys and tribulations of love. Their pursuit of happiness in spite of familial rivalries has been adapted by ballets, operas, films, and symphonies, and is the most frequently performed work in Shakespeare's canon. A must-see for people of all ages!

This production motivates students by giving them positive experiences with the English language. For most of these students, not only is it their first experience of a theatrical performance of a Shakespeare play in English but for some it is their first theatrical experience of any kind!

Romeo and Juliet is currently available and touring throughout the Czech Republic, France, Poland, Slovakia and Austria
