PSF Debut: Unlocking Shakespeare

 

 

 

Christel is an actor, writer, clown and producer. She is most known for her work in the physical comedy duo, The Burnt Marshmallows (along with Christina Sicoli). Together they performed, created, and produced several shows including U-HAULYWOOD (Canadian Comedy Award Nomination) and STUCK, directed by Michael Kennard which had successful runs at the Toronto and Vancouver Fringe Festivals.

Christel is a graduate of Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts and the Second City Conservatory Program in Toronto and has also studied with Soulpepper Theatre, Shakespeare & Company, and clown extensively with Michael Kennard, John Turner, Sue Morrison and Philipe Gaulier. She can be seen performing regularly at Lunacy Cabaret (Zero Gravity Circus) Toronto Festival of Clowns (Pia Bouman Studio) and Clown Chowder, and has also performed at Hysteria Festival, Harbourfront, and Chicago Improv Festval. She recently created and wrote a one woman show, CHAOTICA (Impresario Award Winner, Nominated for Brickenden Award - Outstanding Touring Production), directed by Diana Kolpak, which she will be performing this year in Toronto, Ottawa, and Edmonton.

Christel is a faculty member at the Toronto Film School and Humber College. Her credits include Pugg in Mump and Smoot in Something (Westbury Theatre) Tifulbeau in The Hollow (CanStage) and Witch in Macbeth's Kitchen (Stutting Shadow Productions).
